3rd edition 2020-2022

All the high schools of the following cities (and surroundings) can take part in the third edition of “Art&Science across Italy”: Bari, Cagliari, Frascati, Genoa, Lecce, Naples, Milan, Padua, Pisa, Potenza/Matera, Rome, Turin and Venice.  The 27 final winners will receive a scholarship for a Master at CERN in September 2022.

The first or training phase of the project starts in October 2020 and ends in the various cities by the end of 2021. In this preliminary phase we will organize seminars, online and face-to-face events, visits to INFN museums and laboratories and other local and national events with the aim of bringing students closer to the world of scientific research and art. Once this first phase has ended, the students, in groups of three, are invited to begin working on the design and creation of an artistic composition having a scientific topic as subject. All the produced compositions wll be exhibited in the context of the local “The Art of Science” exhibition, set up in each city between autumn 2021 and spring 2022.

The project will end in May 2022 in Naples with the national exhibition, scheduled at the National Archaeological Museum of Naples (MANN) in May 2022. The national exhibition will be open to host the top 5 works, winners in each of the 13 participating cities.

An international jury of scientists, art and communication experts will choose the 27 winning students who will receive their prize during a show event to be held in May 2022. The prizes include 25 scholarships for a Master in Art and Science at CERN (September 2022) as well as many other prizes that will be given during the award ceremony.
